The ultrasound examination of the joints makes sense in case of many painful arthropathies, e. g., in order to find out whether aching shoulder problems are caused by a tendinitis in the shoulder. Also, many (not all) meniscus damages in the knee joint can be diagnosed quickly and easily using ultrasound. I perform ultrasound examinations on the musculoskeletal system using ‘Siemens Sonoline Prima’, an ultrasound scanner basically designed for orthopaedic ultrasound.
