Complementary medicine
Complementary medicine is a collective name for various diagnostic methods and concepts which are used as an alternative or in addition to academically recognized treatments.
This does not mean that complementary medical procedures were not partially recognised on academic level too,but they weren’t recognised as global treatment methods.
For example, acupuncture has demonstrated positive effects on painful knees, but not on many kinds of headaches. Nevertheless, acupuncture could always be promising in particular cases.
The term, complementary medicine, covers most therapies known as ‘naturopathy’, for example neural therapy, chirotherapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, homoeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine etc.
My clinic has been known as a complementary medical centre of excellence for many years.
