Naturopathy

Naturopathic remedies refer to all procedures of the traditional European naturopathy (TEN). In Germany, the specialist training for physicians of naturopathy is restricted to specialists and stipulated by the regulations for specialist training of the state medical associations. The proper training qualifies the physician basically for performing the classical naturopathic procedures, also allowing the doctor to further qualify in individual naturopathic procedures, of course.

The relaxation of the law on medical professions, unfortunately, permitted physicians without suitable specialist training to use the term “naturopathy” on their practice signs. Although such physicians, too, can be well qualified at times, the use of this term does not suggest that they have been trained according to the regulations for specialist training.
